After a full day of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and locate the open-plan living space where you can unwind in front of the soothing crackle of the woodburning stove and Smart TV. Snuggle up here and watch on as the designated chef of the group cooks up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen; sample their culinary creations around the dining table before settling in for a well-earned movie night on the TV. When the evening draws to a close, head upstairs to wash off the day’s adventures in the bathroom before choosing from three bedrooms; there is a king with en-suite shower, a king and a twin. During the day, take a short walk into the village to stock up on all of your self-catering essentials at local stores or enjoy a break from the kitchen with delicious food at the Black Swan Inn or Insieme Italian Restaurant, Seahouses. Venture down to the harbour to enjoy leisurely strolls around the water or experience the beauty of the coast from a unique perspective by taking to the open water on fishing boats or a trip over to the Farne Islands with the chance of spotting seals and puffins. Follow the coast to the sandy shores of the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve or the breath-taking Bamburgh Beach which is backed by its spectacular castle; be sure to tour the castle before stopping at Bamburgh Lighthouse and the RNLI Museum. Time your trip right by checking the tides to cross the causeway over to Holy Island to experience Lindisfarne Castle and Priory and to admire views across the sea. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the stunning Northumbrian coast, this bustling, picturesque fishing community is home to an attractive harbour. There is a wide assortment of stores and restaurants to choose from in Seahouses. Several kilometres of beautiful sandy beaches are close by, and day-trips to the famous Farne Islands, home to a bird refuge and seal colony, depart daily from Seahouses. The majestic castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (the Duke of Northumberland's residence) are only a few of the many castles and great mansions that can be visited. It's also possible to go golfing, fishing, or horseback riding in the area.

    We've stayed in cottages with similar issues and they have had schemes where free car parking is available elsewhere, within a 10 minute walk, included with a permit. The council in Seahouses might offer such a thing? Apart from that, no real complaints. There was the issue with the door and then the TV aerial but they were resolved. I have given separate feedback to Sykes to say it would have been better to have been able to speak to someone in the first instance to know that the issue would get resolved that day/night, just to put us at ease. On the whole, really well maintained but one or 2 small issues as I left in the book. Also, I am a stickler when it comes to the build up of dust on bathroom extractor fans - please check. We loved our stay, a beautifully placed, spacious house!

    30 Union Street was warm, cosy and welcoming with gorgeous modern features and also some older personalised touches, which made our stay really enjoyable. It’s a very roomy house, with large bedrooms and plenty of space for our family of 6 plus a dog! We didn’t use the log fire with our young children but could imagine that would add to the atmosphere further. The parking wasn’t an issue for us, we just parked in Seahouses and walked the two minutes to the house…just meant we got our steps up a little more. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would love to return! Thank you so much for such a wonderful holiday!

    The decor and cleanliness is amazing but you simply have no parking - except for motorbikes - and if you are not more honest about this your reviews will hold you back. There is so much I could say here about that subject but you have provided a lovely place to stay so would rather not write volumes about it!
