Harsondale Bothy receives glowing praise for its breathtaking views, peaceful rural setting, and cosy, well-appointed accommodation. Guests consistently highlight the cleanliness, comfort, and charm of the cottage, as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. The property is ideal for a relaxing getaway, with excellent walking opportunities and easy access to Hexham. While a few guests noted minor issues such as challenging stairs for those with mobility concerns and the absence of a welcome pack, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended retreat.
Cleanliness is frequently mentioned as exceptional, with guests describing the property as 'very clean', 'exceptionally clean', and 'immaculately kept'. Only one review mentioned disappointment at the lack of a welcome pack, but no negative comments were made about cleanliness itself.
The location is widely praised for its stunning views, tranquillity, and proximity to walks and Hexham. A few guests noted the rural setting requires a car and that directions from the property manager could be improved, but these did not detract from the overall positive impression.
Guests consistently describe the Bothy as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with particular appreciation for the bed, log burner, and peaceful atmosphere. Only minor concerns were raised about the staircase for those with mobility issues.
Facilities are highly rated, with guests noting the well-equipped kitchen, wood-burning stove, and thoughtful touches like a coffee machine and outdoor bath. Some suggested minor additions such as extra utensils, a sweeping brush, or a washing machine for longer stays.
The owners are repeatedly described as friendly, helpful, and responsive, often going out of their way to assist guests. While some guests mentioned the absence of a welcome pack, others appreciated small touches and the presence of the owners' friendly dog. Please note that gifts or extras, if mentioned, are not guaranteed.

A truly idyllic and beautiful location. If you’re after a place to recharge your batteries this is it. My wife and I have just spent 5 days at Harsondale bothy and loved every minute of the stay. Located on a working farm surrounded by stunning views with nearby Hexham an unspoilt town with great restaurants and coffee shops. Louise the owner was amazing, great communication throughout the booking with clear instructions around directions and everything we needed to know about the cottage causing us no stress, and nothing was too much trouble to ensure our stay was a comfortable one. An amazing break and will be revisiting again soon.Thank you Louise for such a great stay.Darren and Amanda

Fantastic little place. Well equipped & very comfortable Especially the bed , and it's a nice touch to have a coffee machine ( some pods provided also )It's on a working farm in the country side away from the busy areas, but this is exactly what we wanted. The bath outside was a lovely idea to enjoy the views .We enjoyed the local circular walk about 3 miles where we managed to see the deer playing in the field.
