It offers exposed beams, painted stone walls and period-style furnishings. The kitchen is fully fitted with integrated appliances in an unusual style. There is a Welsh dresser housing the crockery and a multi-fuel stove filling the home with warmth on a chilly winter's night.
Relax and unwind on the plush sofas in the sitting area and take in the pretty surroundings. The first floor plays host to three double bedrooms, one boasting its very own en-suite shower room, whilst the high-class bathroom comes with a bath and shower over. Up on the top floor you have another double with Velux windows drawing in the natural light and traditional furniture and beams, adding character to the space. The owner Anna was very welcoming, met us on arrival and had offered to light the fire in advance - complimentary tea, milk, bread, biscuits & prosecco a lovely touch. Parking is fine unless you have a very big car, the one time we chose to park on the street (10 metres away) there were plenty of spaces. Don't understand some of the previous review comments, it's a 150 year old house with the character and quirks you should expect. We will definitely come again.

Full of character, very cosy and just the ticket for a long weekend away. Our host was very welcoming, on hand and very helpful. Ideally located for visits to the main Hadrianâs Wall and National Trust walks. The local regular train service to Hexham and beyond is close by if you want explore the wider area or eat out.
