Snaptrip says

Granary Stone House in Northumberland receives high praise for its stunning location, cleanliness, and family-friendly amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the provision of games and toys, and the beautiful walks to the beach. The swimming pool is a highlight, though some guests suggest improvements in maintenance and the provision of welcome gifts.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is generally described as spotlessly clean, with several guests highlighting the cleanliness as a positive aspect. However, a few guests noted areas where cleaning could be improved, such as under furniture and around the TV unit.

The location is consistently praised for its stunning views, proximity to the beach, and easy access to local attractions. The natural beauty and walking trails contribute to the high score, although some guests found the walk to the beach challenging.

Guests find the property comfortable, with plenty of space for large groups and a cosy feel. Some guests mentioned the beds could be improved, and the size of the towels was a minor concern.

The facilities, including the swimming pool and kitchen equipment, are generally well-received. However, there are comments about the need for better maintenance, such as fixing the cooker and taps, and suggestions for additional kitchenware to cater to large groups.

While some guests were delighted with the provision of games, toys, and beach towels, there are mixed feelings about welcome gifts, with some guests suggesting that small welcome baskets would enhance the experience. As gifts are not consistently mentioned, it is not possible to provide a definitive score.

The village of Embleton can be traced back to beyond medieval times and during the Wars of the Roses, it suffered much from the ravages of Scottish invaders. Today, ancient castles and ruins stand testament to Embleton's turbulent past; the Church of Holy Trinity is a late-Norman church, dating from the 12th century, later to be restored in Victorian times. Viewed from the sea, the undulating whinstone ridge that shelters much of the village from east winds, resembles a caterpillar, hence the old name 'Emeldune', meaning the hill of the caterpillar. The rolling countryside means that golfers can enjoy a good 18-hole links golf course that overlooks the beautiful Embleton Bay. Recently launched is the Embleton Heritage Trails Project, consisting of six trails, ranging from a short walk around the village, to a longer six mile route, following the spectacular coastline and inland into the tranquil countryside.

Access to the swimming pool was the icing on the cake (although you do have to be quick to book your slots). I would highly recommend.

Unfortunately the dishwasher didn't work during our stay which wasn't helpful when cooking for so many people. A few bits of feedback which would have made the stay perfect : New tin opener as had to borrow neighbours due to ours not working, New single beds as they were so uncomfortable it was impossible to sleep on them, Good clean of under beds etc as very dirty and dusty on mirrors / under tables etc, Heating was sporadic and was either roasting hot like a sauna or freezing cold where we woke up and we weren't able to control the times it was set for, The plug in the downstairs bath doesn't work. Having said this, it was lovely accommodation with brilliant amenities such as play park and having a swimming pool next door was a luxury - clean and warm too so perfect.
