Centrally located in the area of Tweedmouth on the south bank of the River Tweed, East facing 5 Mill Wharf enjoys fabulous, uninterrupted views of the town, tidal estuary, out to the Lighthouse and sea from the large picture window, and offers the perfect choice for a couple's romantic break, receiving the sun throughout the morning. Enter into this recently refurbished, contemporary and stylish apartment and find a bright and spacious open-plan living space to relax in when you're not out and about in Berwick, with a sleek kitchen space complete with appliances and a handy washing machine. Cook up a romantic meal for your other half with Siemens oven and hob and serve it up at the intimate dining table for two as the last of the sun's light enters through the feature window adding a beautiful ambiance. End your evening by snuggling up on the functional sofa and enjoying a film on the flat screen TV before heading to sleep in the elegant bedroom where a king-size bed awaits along with fabulous fitted wardrobes. Freshen up in the lovely shower room, complete with a large shower enclosure and a heated towel rail to keep you warm. Watch the sunrise out of the large picture window, keeping your eyes peeled to spot any swans and seals in the nearby harbour or dolphins further out to sea. The bustling town centre of Berwick-upon-Tweed is just a gentle stroll away over the 400-year-old bridge, Old Bridge, arriving onto Bridge Street where you can find a throng of restaurants, pubs and quirky independent shops. Situated yards from the northern end of the Northumberland Coastal Path, this apartment is perfect for a couple seeking walking and cycling and golfing opportunities, with the town's Elizabethan walls providing another great promenade to soak up the historic scenery. Venture south along the Northumberland coastline to find historic castles at Alnwick, Bamburgh and Holy Island, the latter only accessible by the causeway at low tide and home to an ancient priory, cafés and pubs. More spectacular walks can be enjoyed by heading west into the Cheviot Hills at the end of the Pennine Way, passing through the picture-perfect villages of Ford and Etal. Travel 3 miles over the border into Scotland to visit the quaint fishing villages of Burnmouth and St Abbs, as well as the town of Eyemouth, home to Eyemouth Golf Club, Eyemouth Museum and Eyemouth beach. For those seeking a city visit, East Coast Mainline trains can whisk you away to Edinburgh or Newcastle in around an hour. A must do is a trip on Berwick Boat Trips out into the estuary past Berwick Pier where you can also enjoy a leisurely stroll. You will see seals basking as well as other wildlife and a real chance of spotting passing dolphins.

Berwick is also the ideal base for heading south down the coast to visit the historic castle and priory on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne accessible only at low tide.

Slightly further south is the stunning Bamburgh Castle used regularly by film companies and the picture perfect fishing village of Beadnell. Spend quality time with your partner in this beautiful Northumberland town at 5 Mill Wharf.

Lying on the Northumberland coast and straddling the River Tweed right next to the Scottish Borders is the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Boasting a wealth of history in the town's Elizabethan walls, three bridges and the various museums, Berwick is a haven for tourists seeking a relaxing and lively break by the coast. Book with confidence. The owner met us at the apartment with lots of useful information and even text to make sure all was well during our stay.

The owner met us at the secure parking gate to show us up to the apartment. He was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spotlessly clean, very spacious and comfortable, with everything you could need. The views over the Tweed and out to sea were stunning, we spent many hours watching! It’s under a ten minute walk to Berwick centre and from there you can get on the train to lots of places and the bus seems to have a good network. We left our car at the apartment and used public transport to Edinburgh and Alnwick. It’s the perfect base to explore the stunning coastline with many places a short drive away. Berwick is also a beautiful town to explore (would recommend a walk of the walls) and has plenty of shops and eateries (some right on the doorstep!) so you have everything to hand if you don’t want to travel far. The host text a couple of times during our stay to check we were enjoying ourselves, which was considerate of him and appreciated by us. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back and highly recommend.
