Amble is called ’the friendliest port’ and the locals embrace this.  The harbour at is home to a busy popular Sunday market.  You can also see the little harbour village with pod style shopping outlets.  The harbour has two great chippy’s and a few restaurants specialising in fish.  Boat trips to Coquet are popular to see the rspb sanctuary home to puffins and seabirds.  From the harbour, enjoy the views towards Warkworth Castle you can walk to Warkworth from Amble, past the marina and river.  Nearby Warkworth is a pretty picture postcard village dominated by the castle which sits at the top of the village. 

Amble is the start of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching along the beautiful coastline to Berwick-upon-Tweed with miles of golden beaches and castles.  Make sure you visit Holy Island featured in local author L J Ross novel but ensure you check the tide tables to access the causew. . .
