About this property

FULLY REFURBISHED SPRING 2023!!

Nestled into the picturesque coast of Northumberland and overlooking the beautiful bay of Amble, Island View is an ideal holiday home for a family or group of adults who love to spend time at the beach. Be welcomed by stunning views of the Amble dunes and coast, enjoying the salty air as you unpack with ease from an off-road spot. Make yourself at home in the sitting room, where natural light streams through the windows and a traditional fireplace houses a welcoming woodburning stove, an ideal spot for relaxing in an evening with a glass of your favourite beverage and catching up on your go-to TV shows. When mealtimes call, a kitchen decorated in pastel green with a great selection of home-from-home amenities is a great space for guests to cook together, and you can enjoy your meal at the dining table, beside a leather sofa and glass doors opening up into the sunroom, an ideal place to settle down with a coffee and enjoy the beautiful dune and ocean views through the large windows. Freshen up in the bathroom before settling down for the night in one of the four bedrooms, including a king-size, a double, a twin and a single, each with their own character and charm. Enjoy alfresco dining with a spectacular view across the sea in the garden, where a neat gravel area offers seating and scenic backdrops to breakfast in the sunshine. Amble is a terrific seaside town and there will be plenty of activities for you to enjoy, beginning with the town centre itself, where there is a range if eateries, independent shops and a convenience store, and from here you can visit Amble South Pier or take a walk beside Amble Marina. There is a fantastic beach within a short distance of the property, and you can explore the coast of Northumberland further with a boat trip to Coquet Island, an RSPB nature reserve located just off the coast. Travel a little further and you will find scenic walks around Warkworth Castle and Hauxley Nature Reserve, or you can visit the historic market town of Alnwick. Make a family getaway to remember with a stay at Island View.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.

I know the cleaners have a lot to do but I ended up cleaning out the cutlery drawers and putting everything through the dishwasher as full of crumbs, the grill was left dirty and when I went to clean the toilets accidentally knocked over the brush holder and it was full of brown water

The views from the sunroom were amazing. A good place to stay to access the facilities in Amble. Plenty of great places to eat. Also a good base to explore Northumberland. We would definitely stay again.
