The town itself offers a selection of eateries for you to choose from, including Scotts of Alnmouth and The Red Lion Inn. Alnmouth has a great golf course for you to enjoy, and for history lovers, there is the intriguing Old Battery Gun Emplacement. Travel a little further and you can visit Warkworth Castle, or Alnwick, with its many shops, eateries, riverside walks and impressive Alnwick Castle. Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.

Fantastic location close to the lovely pubs, coastal path and beach. Alnmouth is beautiful . There is no parking but we knew this when we booked. Luckily we managed to get a spot on the main road very nearby. Really cute little cottage which was ample space for 2 of us and our little dog.Only slight criticism would be that the chair/ sofa in the living room were a little bit uncomfortable for cosy nights in. Other than that everything was wonderful.

Excellent choices for lunch and evening meals. An easy walk to a fabulous beach and Englands oldest 9 hole golf course. Aln Cottage is a typical terraced cottage, well fitted out, clean and tidy with everything you need. The downside is the lack of outside space, no parking outside the cottage and the difficulty in finding a parking space at all in such a popular village.

We felt it was warm and cosy for November and certainly enjoyed the wood burner, although it is a little small. The double bed certainly is very firm but we got used to it. We would definitely stay at Aln cottage again.
