Close to the many sandy beaches, coast and visitor attractions, Marley’s Retreat is set in the centre of the pretty little village of Holywell. With two friendly village pubs (one 50 yards) and beautiful walks from the doorstep down into the Dene and along the river which is seen from the rear windows of the apartment. This comfortable apartment is the perfect base for exploring and set only 3 miles to the fabulous sandy bay and sea at Seaton Sluice, a wonderful unspoilt beach ideal for those who like a little peace and quiet.
Nearby Whitley Bay is home to the fabulous Spanish City, the iconic building which has been renovated to provide a lovely champagne bar and restaurants. Stroll along the wide promenade where you can walk right along the stretch of coast to Cullercoats and onto Tynemouth, all with fabulous places to eat and drink. Whitley Bay is wonderful for families of all ages, still retaining some old-fashioned seaside charm, whilst Tynemouth has some amazing restaurants and bars, a Sealife Centre, The ancient Abbey, hidden coves, and highly rated beaches perfect for surfing and rock pooling.
Nearby, catch a bus or metro if you want to leave your car behind perhaps spend a day in Newcastle, a city of culture and entertainment where you will receive a warm Geordie welcome. Travel north for a day trip further into Northumberland and discover some of the castles and historic sites peppered along the coast. Inland, visit Hadrian’s Wall or the Northumberland National Park famed for its dark skies.

Loved this place,everything you need for self catering,lovely little village with 2 pubs a pizza takeaway and local shop plenty of areas to walk dog if dog is with you friendly locals who stopped for chats conveient to visit loads of different towns within 5 to 15 mins drive not forgetting max the owner she was lovely and she has a little shop close by for sandwiches and takeaways,even Sunday roast dinner , loved the old furniture not the **** built ones you get now,Def be back there if down that way again,weve shared this place to family to go as it can sleep 5,bird watchers dream as woodland out back window.❤️

Lovely apartment in a fab location, bus stops outside to Whitley bay and beyond. Apartment comfortable, there is a flight of stairs on arrival and everything else on the one floor with everything you need for your stay, the bed was so big and comfy and storage was very good. Kitchen compact but again had everything you need. Bathroom good size with shower or could have a bath if required. We felt very relaxed and it was fairly quiet, pub next door for food if wanted, also another pub across the road and some take aways nearby. We enjoyed so much we would like to return.

A really comfortable apartment with lovely spacious rooms. The local pub about 50 yards away dishing out super home cooked meals and local shop nearby. A good place to get to all that the area has to offer. Would recommend and hope to return.
