Lovely place to stay, and in a great location to explore Barnard Castle and the surrounding area. Everything you are likely to need was available, and it was great to use the hot tub in the evenings after a day out. Shopping was no problem with Morrisons right nextdoor, and there are a variety of interesting shops in the town. Lots of pubs and good places to eat are nearby as well. Only slight issue we had was parking near to the cottage, as it was sometimes difficult to find a space.

We had a lovely stay at Olive Cottage. Barnard Castle is a great base to explore County Durham and further afield - we made it to both Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. Highly recommend.
