The property is extremely comfortable, and clean. Beds very comfortable and spacious bedrooms. There are some benches in the garden, but some comfortable garden chairs would have been appreciated. Situated very close to Middleton, with pubs, cafes and shops. Also very close to Bowlees visitor centre, and lots of lovely walks.

The working farm was a great base to visit places in and around Barnard Castle with two teenagers. Some beautiful walks and lovely scenery when driving to Hawes for he Wensleydale Creamery visit. The day in Beamish was excellent, with lovely weather as well. All in all a very enjoyable week was had by all.

Superbly located for exploring the local dales, waterfall sites and extensive dog walking opportunities. Low Houses Farmhouse is an old farmhouse on a working farm - so on a cold and wet February week bring lots of dog towels! Was perfect for us (couple with older teenage son + 2 dogs) who wanted to walk and hike. We were warm and toasty in front of the open fire in the evenings. Anna was a kind and courteous host, checking in with us that all was well. The old farmhouse met our needs but the layout (steps between bedrooms) would not suit those with specific accessibility needs.
