What a delightful cottage in such a pretty and convenient location. Well equipped, cosy, comfortable and spacious. Everything about this charming place made our stay so enjoyable. Christmas was very special for us here. The log burner kept us cosy and a thoughtful welcome pack started our stay on a very positive note. Thank you so much.

The Stables is a charming and snug cottage located in a quiet village, conveniently close to the amenities of Bishop Auckland and just a 20-minute drive from Barnard Castle. There’s a delightful pub just a few doors down, and a scenic walking path nearby that was perfect for our dog.We found everything we needed for a peaceful getaway. Penny truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home, especially in ensuring our baby granddaughter was comfortable. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and we thoroughly enjoyed cozying up by the wood burner during a stormy night with the bottle of Prosecco provided! We wholeheartedly recommend The Stables! Thank you, Penny, for a fantastic stay—if only it could have lasted longer!
