Be sure to visit the atmospheric ruins of the 12th-century abbey, which overlook the town. Also, from Wymondham Abbey railway station you can board the steam trains of the Mid-Norfolk Railway. Further afield, enjoy day trips to the picture-postcard towns and village of the Southern Broads, or spend the day exploring the cathedral city of Norwich (13 miles).
