About this property

Enjoying a secluded location in the heart of the tranquil Norfolk countryside, this imaginatively designed eco-friendly property makes a fantastic retreat for couples and smaller families seeking a quiet holiday getaway. With ample space for up to four guests, the lodge was built using carbon-limiting hempcrete, with roof-mounted solar panels, air source heating and Norfolk clay pamments. Surrounded by beautiful open woodland, this serene bolthole was inspired by traditional Norfolk clay lump barns, and lies within the grounds of the impressive Ketteringham Hall. The cottage can also be booked in tandem with the neighbouring barn, together offering spacious accommodation for ten guests.

Stepping into this light and airy traditionally-styled cottage, the ground floor features a delightful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner providing a relaxing space for you to unwind in after an exhilarating day discovering the Norfolk countryside. The inviting lounge has a Smart TV, comfortable seating and beautiful views of the garden and surrounding woods. You can gather round the central dining table to enjoy delicious family meals which you can prepare in the fully equipped kitchen to the rear. Upstairs, there’s a handy and invigorating shower room and two cosy, bright and relaxing bedrooms: a cheery king-size room and a lovely twin room with stunning woodland views. From the main living space, patio doors open out onto a large patio with outdoor furniture, charming views and a couple of steps leading up onto a large and unenclosed lawn surrounded by woodland.

The quaint village of Ketteringham is home to the charming Ladybelt Country Park (2 miles) and makes a great base for nature lovers and walkers. The busy town of Wymondham (4 miles) has a choice of great pubs, shops and restaurants, or you can head to the city of Norwich (8 miles), with its famous cathedral and other historic sites.
