In the adjacent shower room, you can enjoy a refreshing shower in the walk-in enclosure. A spacious garden area surrounds the property, with a small orchard affording the property its name along with a large hedged and tree-lined paddock and a gravelled area with seating for alfresco dining. The small village of Gissing is home to The Crown Inn, with its friendly atmosphere, serving good food and local Adnams beers, the pub overlooks the Saxon round-towered church, noted for its wonderful double hammer-beam angel roof. Pulham Market, a village 4.7 miles away, offers two pubs also serving food, a general store, and quaint thatched houses and historic buildings scattered around a village green, just 4 miles beyond Pulham Market is the delightful market town of Harleston offering a good selection of individual shops, delis, eateries, large antiques emporium and, for wine and beer connoisseurs, an Adnams shop. The nearby market town of Diss is home to the Heritage Triangle where you will find The Corn Hall, a vibrant thriving venue offering a wide range of quality arts, entertainment and heritage, and nearby courtyards where an unusual array of individual shops and restaurants are waiting to be explored, Diss is centred around the Mere, a deep lake, and the adjoining town park provides a lovely setting for picnics or a stroll over the water along the floating boardwalk. The peaceful Norfolk Broads, and lesser-known Suffolk Broads, are calm, shallow reed-fringed broads, or lakes, interlinked by a series of waterways, make for an exquisite place to explore our native flora and fauna, highly recommended are the little-known Wheatfen Broad, once home to the esteemed naturalist, the late Ted Ellis, and habitat today for the rare Swallow-tailed Butterfly, and the Redgrave and Lopham Fen, the largest valley fen in England, renowned for its Great Raft Spiders. For keen walkers, Bouddica Way beckons. Named after the legendary Warrior and Queen of the Iceni whose tribes once inhabited the area, the nearby Bouddica Way runs for approximately 36 miles between Norwich and Diss. Enjoy visiting the animals at the nearby Banham Zoo where the parkland is home to up to two thousand animals from around the world. The Earsham Wetland Centre, just outside Bungay, is home to a collection of native wildlife and rare breed farm animals and is great for those interested in conservation and scenic walks. Bressingham Steam and Gardens is home to a unique attraction of antique steam trains and steamrollers alongside luscious gardens making an interesting and enjoyable outing. The counties of Norfolk and Suffolk both offer wonderful interesting coastlines, many with sandy beaches, alternatively, why not take a leisurely drive through the luscious green countryside stopping off at one of the many interesting quaint market towns for a browse around independent shops, a spot of lunch or afternoon tea. And last, but not least, don’t forget to spend a day in the city of Norwich which has so much to offer, including a wealth of historic buildings, fine shopping and modern architecture.
