Having no steps or stairs, makes it a favourite choice for young and old alike. Neighbouring the owners’ home and set within delightful open countryside boasting enclosed seating courtyard garden with wonderful countryside vista overlooking the fields. A few steps from the door is the village common, a meadow of wild flowers, and a duck pond, a great place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea. Moments away from the doorstep there are excellent walking paths to venture on. Beautifully furnished and equipped, boasting open living space, with comfy kingsize bed to offer a restful night’s sleep.
Located in the quiet village of Wortham, just 12 minutes’ drive from the market town of Diss, which is plentiful with shops, cafés, supermarkets, and restaurants. Be sure to bring your golf clubs, driving range and golf course within 10 minutes’ drive. The area is great for exploring the delights of Norfolk and Suffolk, with its Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold. All within easy driving distance. Hire a boat on the famous Norfolk Broads or enjoy Great Yarmouth’s golden mile and funfair. The historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, famous for its cathedral, Georgian theatre and museums and markets. The medieval city of Norwich which also has a cathedral and market plus a wide range of shops, restaurants, and galleries to delight you. The surrounding area offers plenty of gastro pubs to enjoy. Nearby you will find nature reserves, Bressingham Gardens and Steam Park, National Trusts Ickworth House, and Thetford Forest, where you will find extensive walks and cycle trails. If you want a day out at the seaside, both the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines are within an hour’s drive. You will soon see just why this is such a popular destination for visitors.

Nestling in the intimate embrace of its larger sibling Lark’s Meadow, Lark’s Nest is a single story wood clad holiday home which is the epitome of a country hideaway. Set deep in the heart of rural Suffolk Lark's Nest lies down a track that passes through a large common. At the end of the common is to be found this rural idyll that nestles in the peaceful and bucolic gardens that surround the properties. Before you meet the owners you will be greeted by two friendly greyhounds, and a stray cat that has made its home in the garage. They will ****** you to your peaceful haven. Once inside, the open plan accommodation has all you need. Oak furniture sits easily with a modern kitchen and utility room with all the appliances you would require for permanent occupation let alone a few days stay. Katie, the owner, will explain all the workings to you and will then disappear unless called upon. The bedroom is a goodly size and looks out over a field where you can exchange morning glances with horses. The bed is comfortable and supportive. There is a large walk -in wardrobe and a very large modern wet room that you could hold a dance in. Marvelous. A television is provided but we watch TV on our iPads and the WiFi coped well. Outside, the well established compact garden has an area of decking sufficient for a table with four chairs plus additional seating space. There are far reaching views to woodland across a field that supplies a market garden.This retreat is not for you if you enjoy car fumes, sirens or mingling with the masses. But if you prefer day long sun, luscious foliage and birdsong it is. And that’s before you factor in the long horizons and sculptured cloudscapes. Plenty of walks nearby from the cottage too. Large supermarkets are five miles away in Diss, and your daily touring can be found at Southwold, Aldeburgh and Thorpness. National trust at Sutton Hoo, Flatford Mill and the antique filled rotunda that is the Ickworth Estate. Further afield, if you don’t mind driving the extra distance, are Cromer and Wells-Next-to-Sea, which of course the latter no longer is. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and our criteria has always been, could we live in it? As to Lark’ Nest the answer is yes.
