Guests say

Vintner's Cottage in Norfolk offers a comfortable and peaceful stay with a well-stocked kitchen, secure garden, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the property's character, comfortable beds, and additional amenities like board games and a pool table. While some guests encountered issues with maintenance and local amenities, the overall experience is positive, with the owner being responsive and helpful.

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with mentions of it being 'spotlessly clean'. However, there are a few comments about cobwebs, dust, and a damp smell, which slightly lower the score.

The location in the quiet village of Freethorpe is appreciated for its peace and easy access to local attractions. Some guests mention the convenience of local transport and the beauty of the Norfolk countryside, although the limited views from the property and the presence of a noisy neighbour's dog are noted.

Guests find the beds and living room furniture very comfortable, with special mentions of the garden view and secure area for pets. However, taller guests have noted the need to duck through doorways, and the downstairs bedroom is mentioned as being tight for space.

The property is well-furnished with a range of home comforts, but there are several reports of issues with the TV and Wi-Fi, as well as maintenance concerns like the log burner and garden upkeep. The owner's responsiveness to problems is a positive aspect.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the owner, so it is not possible to score this category. However, the owner is noted to be helpful and communicative.

A lovely kitchen to cook in , facilities were good, beds were comfy. The house is done up to a good standard. You do need a car as there’s not much nearby. The only thing I would recommend to the owners would be to cover the 2 lifted pavement slabs in the garden , as I did trip over 1 , maybe 2 nice flower pots on top. But overall , for sure I would love to stay there again

Cleanliness could be improved with cobwebs/dust and stains on some towels/bedding. Some items eg: washing tablets and dishwasher tablets and milk noted to be included on listing were not there, would also benefit from oven gloves, cloth/sponge and more loo roll! Garden seems lovely, didn’t use it much due to cooler weather! Driveway big enough for a small car only, but parking on the road would be fine for larger cars.

There was a damp smell when entering the property and we had to go to the supermarket straight away for fly killer as there were several flies in the kitchen and living room. I was sent an email stating there would be tea, coffee and milk sachets but I wasn't able to find any of these. We had a nice week but unfortunately wouldn't re book the property.
