Flint Lodge is a charming cottage in Norwich, appreciated for its quiet, rural setting and homely atmosphere. Guests enjoy comfortable beds and a peaceful environment, with the added delight of a morning chorus from the birds. The property is ideal for a tranquil retreat, offering a warm welcome with a bottle of prosecco for some visitors.
The cottage generally maintains good cleanliness, though some guests noted areas needing improvement, such as under the sofas and a found grape, indicating occasional oversights.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and rural charm, surrounded by trees and fields, making it perfect for a peaceful break.
The beds are noted as comfortable by some, but others mention they are tired and noisy, suggesting a need for replacement to enhance comfort.
Facilities are adequate with some concerns about maintenance, such as the log burner needing attention and outdoor areas appearing jaded. The provision of essentials is also considered sparse.
While a bottle of prosecco was a pleasant surprise for some guests, there is insufficient information to assess overall thoughtfulness, and such gifts should not be expected.

On entering the cottage we thought how lovely it was but gradually we could see that some things are very tired and do need attention. The beds are knackered, noisy and need replacing. The log burner needs a rope seal and attention to the glass, I’m sure this is a fire risk as no proper seal. Found a grape just in front of the sofa, luckily I found it and not our spaniel. The sofas definitely need a good Hoover under and between the seats are lots of crumbs , crisps etc, the grill pan had melted cheese on from the last client. Outside is very jaded if you were visiting in the Summer. Shower needs descaling. Very Very mean on items available, we only visited for 3 nights and found no washing up liquid, kitchen washing up cloths etc, it is the meanest cottage for provisions we have ever visited and we have been to many, didn’t really need the cheap bottle of prosecco , would rather have had things we needed. Be careful of the hessian mats as they are trip hazards.Certainly would not use the kennels for dogs, they looked like a prison. All the above taken in to account we did have a nice short stay because we love Holt, and it suited us for location.
