Guests consistently praise the cottage’s cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable, cosy atmosphere. The location is ideal for exploring Norfolk, with scenic walks and a friendly local pub nearby. Thoughtful touches such as welcome packs are frequently mentioned, though not guaranteed. While the vast majority of reviews are highly positive, a small number note minor issues with comfort and outdoor seating. Overall, the property is highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Cleanliness is repeatedly highlighted, with guests describing the property as spotless, immaculate, and very well presented. Only one review mentions a negative experience, but still acknowledges the high standard of cleanliness.

The location is widely praised for its tranquillity, proximity to walking routes, and easy access to both countryside and local attractions. A single review notes the presence of caravans and solar panels, but this is a minority view.

Most guests find the cottage very comfortable, with positive comments on the bed, shower, and overall atmosphere. A few mention the bed being firmer than preferred and limited storage, but these are exceptions.

Facilities are described as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, modern amenities, and good maintenance. Minor issues such as a small bathroom sink and a dishwasher not performing well are mentioned but promptly addressed by the hosts.

Many guests appreciate thoughtful touches like welcome packs, flowers, wine, and chocolates, though these are not guaranteed. Hosts are frequently described as friendly, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive.

Aptly named The Pump House, this lovely property with a large garden, is located directly alongside the former Great Eastern Railway. Once the Goods Shed and Pump House of the railway station, this holiday home is located in the Old Station House grounds which is the owner’s private residence and also encompasses a small caravan site (5 pitches). Upon entry to the property, you will be fascinated by the old well, which is now covered with a safety viewing glass and presents a wonderful feature. The property is furnished and equipped for comfort and has the added benefit of being on one level.

There is direct access onto the old track-bed which is now a 26 mile footpath, bridleway and cycle route known as Marriott’s Way. This lovely facility follows the disused railway line between Norwich and Aylsham, linking up to further footpaths and trails. Whether you are a casual walker, rambler or cyclist, you will delight at the rich habitat and wildlife on the many footpaths and cycle routes in the area. For those less mobile, there are suitable surfaces along much of its length.

The village of Cawston is just a few minutes’ walk and offers a deli/café, shop and pub. Nearby attractions include National Trust properties, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, and the unique Thursford collection with its stunning Christmas show. This is an ideal location for exploring the Norfolk Broads and North Norfolk Coast. The North Norfolk beaches are 14 miles and include the traditional seaside resort of Cromer, with its glorious sandy beaches, delicious crabs and all year end of pier shows. Wroxham is 14 miles, and is known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads with daily boat hire and river trips to explore the expanse of waterways, riverside restaurants, cafes and shops.

The historical market town of Aylsham, 5 miles, for shops, cafes, market square, banks and supermarket. Experience a nostalgic trip by steam on Norfolk’s longest narrow-gauge railway which runs between Aylsham and Wroxham. The 18-mile round trip runs through pretty countryside, where you can jump on/off at the pretty villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall and explore by foot. Norwich is 10 miles away, a medieval city with cathedral, castle museum, excellent shopping including two indoor malls, market square, theatre, cinemas, cafes and plenty of restaurants.

This holiday cottage was perfect for our needs. It was warm, bright and clean and was well equipped with everything that we needed. Set in a peaceful location but close to amenities. Beautiful place for rest and relaxing. We enjoyed the fantastic welcome pack which was an expected surprise. Plenty of walking routes from the door, a lovely pub in the village also a deli that serves wonderful food. National trust property near by. Would we stay again-most definitely.
