Norfolk Broads for fishing, birdwatching, sailing, daily boat hire and river trips. Shops 800 yards, pubs ¼ mile.

A splendid bungalow, with excellent provision of kitchen equipment. We found that everything and more was provided and we didn't have to provide anything ourselves. Cutlery and crockery were sparklingly clean, as well as being in plentiful supply. All equipment worked very well and there were good instructions if needed.All bedrooms were comfortable as was the living room, which was also spacious and with a lovely conservatory attached.The little village had a well stocked shop with newspapers as well. Virtually next door is the Kingfisher Ice cream parlour and Fish and Chip shop - both to be recommended. The best place to eat in Walcott, was the Lighthouse pub, with a wonderful menu and friendly staff - this is out on the Happisburgh Road.The beach is one of the best I have seen with lovely white smooth sand, marvellous for children. Rothiemay has a profusion of beach equipment from chairs to windbreaks and provision for beach games.You cannot but have great holiday there.

Walking into this bungalow is like slipping on your most comfortable sweater. You instantly feel at home. Board games, toiletries, cutlery, crockery it has it all in abundance., comfy sofas, chairs and beds and plenty of room to spread out. The mature garden is also full of butterflies and birds. Walcott is a little place, but it has a good café/ice-cream parlour, excellent fish and chips shop, a well stocked village store and there is a welcoming 'pub' just into Bacton (Just a few minutes walk from the front door.) The real 'tell' for me is that we weren't ready to go home at the end of the week. Definitely a place we would return to in the future.
