On arrival at Peacock lodge,we received a welcome gift of fresh eggs from their own hens, some homemade bread,butter and strawberry jam. Our dog also received some treats and towels for drying off. Everything was as in new condition, cooker,dishwasher,fridge/freezer microwave,toaster..every appliance. There is a large tv in the living/dining area and one on the bedroom. The bed is 100% comfortable and the bedding,curtains and cushions all match and of high quality. The towels provided are of Egyptian cotton. A great of effort has been made to co-ordinate the matching fabrics and furnishings and it does look great. Nothing seems to have been overlooked, games,books, travel recommendations and children's paper and crayons provided. First aid kit, scissors,hairdryer and even wine bucket,all provided. There appears nothing that has been overlooked. The garden is fully enclosed with a hot tub and plants. On site are chickens and ducks with goats on the neighbouring land. Patio chairs,sun umbrella, retractable washing line and a visit from two peacocks sat on the fence was also encountered. The hallway also gives a radiant glow at night from a lamp lighting through a glass window which also gives a touch of class. The shower and toilet are ensuite, new and spotless. The owners Gareth and Jenny are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Could I recommend this place? In a 💓 beat, you will go a long way to try to find one better...we loved it.

We had a lovely stay at peacock cottage Jenny the owner was very helpful and surprised us with homemade bread , jam butter and fresh eggs from her chickens .Also had a lovely basket ready with goodies in for our dog .would highly recommend a stay here very clean and everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay.

Owners very welcoming. Property spotless. Located on the edge of a small rural hamlet with a pub and a shop. Pub hours were a bit hit and miss during our visit so we didn’t go. Plenty of villages with pubs/restaurants within a 5 mile drive though even in peak season opening times vary. If self catering suits you the property is fully equipped ( other than a washing machine ) though once we set out in the morning we were never back until later in the evening so only made breakfast.We found it perfectly located for easy access to the broads, and pretty villages along the North and East coastlines as well as Norwich. The staff in the shops, pubs, and restaurants were amongst the most pleasant we’ve come across.If you go Wroxham ( tiny town centre but worth stopping at ), Southwold, Cromer and Sheringham were our favourites. The cottage was a pleasant retreat and we would certainly consider it in the future if we visit Norfolk again
