Guests say

Guests appreciate the property's great location with easy access to a dog-friendly beach and stunning views. The owner is commended for good communication. However, there are concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, with reports of it not being cleaned properly and lacking in some basic provisions upon arrival.

Multiple reviews mention a lack of cleanliness, including mouse droppings and uncleared broken glass, indicating a need for more thorough cleaning.

The location is praised for its proximity to the beach and its beautiful views, making it a desirable spot for visitors.

The property is described as warm and cosy, but some guests experienced discomfort due to cleanliness issues and a lack of initial warmth upon arrival.

Guests report issues with maintenance such as no working fire alarm or carbon monoxide monitor, and dead batteries in the TV remote, suggesting that facilities need better upkeep.

While a welcome pack was listed, its absence was noted in a review. As gifts are not guaranteed and there is insufficient information on other thoughtful touches, this score cannot be provided.

Sitting cliff side on a small, exclusive holiday park in the heart of Mundesley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hillside really is a special find. Just footsteps from the beach and larger than most holiday lodges and has been lovingly decorated and furnished to ensure that guests have a really great holiday. This truly matters to this lovely owner, and it shows. He has taken every care to make sure that you not only fall in love with this retreat but that you book to come time and time again, as many of his guests already do.

Sleeping six in two bedrooms with a comfortable futon in the living room, this south facing property enjoys a veranda. Forget all the preconceptions you have about holiday parks, this rather special lodge is spacious and has a contemporary well-equipped kitchen offering everything you need to cook a lovely meal should you decide to dine in rather than sample the many culinary destinations that this beautiful area has to offer.

Mundesley really does have one of the best beaches in the area, a wide inviting stretch of sand which is perfect for sunbathing, wild swimming or a blustery off season walk to really blow those cobwebs away. Head East from here and walk the Golden Mile at Great Yarmouth, where you will find all the fun of the fair on the Pleasure Beach. Head west and visit Cromer and Sheringham or undertake a spot of crab-lining on Blakeney Quay. This location isn’t just great for the coast though, this is also the perfect spot from which to explore the beautiful Broads. So, all in all this is the perfect choice for your break. Just be prepared to leave a little piece of your heart at Hillside. But then, you’ll be back to see it again for sure.

Absolutely disgusting place! Would not recommend. Left after the first night, only reason we stayed is because we couldn’t find anywhere else to stay. Paid for a 4 night break stayed 1 night. Place is filthy. Mouse droppings in the bedroom, clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while, no working fire alarm or carbon monoxide monitor. Had 3 children with me, the eldest slept in the car the first night she didn’t want to sleep there. Checked into a lovely parkdean resort 40 minutes away. Cottages.com have been great and after sending pics they refunded me the money. Cant fault the customer service I have received from them. Location is pretty and views are stunning, but seriously find somewhere else to stay! Avoid!!!!
