About this property

Tucked peacefully away in the hamlet of Great Walsingham, Sandpiper Lodge is a charming end terrace barn conversion which forms part of an historic local mill development. Situated a mere four miles inland from the coast at Wells-next-the-Sea, this hideaway offers holidaymakers a fantastic base from which to explore rural and coastal North Norfolk.

Constructed of brick with a pantile roof, Sandpiper Lodge was converted in 2003, and then tastefully updated in 2022 creating comfortable and cosy accommodation. Offering a relaxing colour palette throughout, the rooms flow seamlessly from one to the next. The ground floor is generously proportioned, with large doorways giving an overall feel of open plan living. With windows overlooking the garden, and a wood burning stove set in a feature brick fireplace, the sitting room is a perfect space to retire to at the end of a day spent exploring the big outdoors. Nestle into the large comfortable sofas together to watch a film on the Smart television. Double glazed doors open to the adjoining dining room that offers seating for four guests around a charming farmhouse table. Walk through to a spacious, well-equipped fitted country-style kitchen boasting modern appliances. With plenty of worktop space, this is the ideal setting for enthusiastic chefs to rustle up a delicious meal made from the plethora of local produce the area is famed for. Upstairs on the first floor are three inviting bedrooms. The master bedroom hosts a king-size, while bedrooms two and three host full-size single beds. The bedrooms are served by a smart, fully tiled bathroom featuring both a bath and shower option. Outside, the cottage has an enclosed west facing garden to the front. The circular patio area with table and seating for four guests is just the spot for sharing a bottle of Norfolk wine while you watch the sun go down.

Sandpiper Lodge is a super choice at any time of the year for couples or a small family looking for a quiet bolthole. Great Walsingham, much smaller than neighbouring Little Walsingham, is a picturesque village boasting a popular cafe that sells award-winning pies plus a delightful art gallery located just across the village road. An easy twenty minute walk leads you to Little Walsingham which has a farm shop selling a fine selection of delicious local produce, two good pubs, several cafes and a general store.
