About this property

Located in the quintessential, sought-after village of Thornage, Evergreen is a detached 17th century cottage curated from traditional Norfolk brick and flint. Boasting magnificent views across undulating grazing meadows to the front and rear, this hideaway is close to the coast but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the summer rush.

The central location of Evergreen means that it is within easy reach of each end of Norfolk’s beautiful coastline, as well as being close to the picturesque Georgian market town of Holt which is great for shopping, eating, and exploring. The superb pub, The Hunworth Bell, in neighbouring Hunworth is a 34-minute walk or 5-minute drive away from the cottage.

Sympathetically restored, and extended at the back with a garden room to make the most of the south facing sunny aspect and garden view, this lovely cottage will not disappoint. Whilst some character has been retained with beams and barn-style doors, the cottage has been fully modernised to benefit from double glazing and underfloor heating. Thoughtfully decorated in a sumptuous rustic country style, the interiors feel relaxing and tranquil. Entering the cottage via the garden room, an inner hall way opens to a well-equipped, light and bright galley kitchen to one side, with a useful boot room and utility area to the other. Straight ahead, an archway leads into the open-plan living environment with the inviting sitting area at one end, and the sociable dining area to the other. A charming open fire creates ambience and adds warmth when needed. Conveniently located on the ground floor, the king-size master bedroom is served by an en suite shower room, meaning Evergreen is ideal for multi-generational families, or two to three couples holidaying together.

Upstairs, three additional bedrooms are beautifully presented. Bedroom two hosts a king-size bed overlooking countryside views, with the other two bedrooms providing a double bed, and twin beds. These rooms are served by family bathroom offering bath with shower over.

Outside, the delightful private garden at the rear of the cottage runs down to a small stream, and is a lovely relaxing place to be on a sunny day, listening to the gentle trickle of water. A good-sized patio area offers outdoor seating for dining al fresco.

Evergreen will appeal to all manner of holidaymakers, including couples on a walking holiday, or families sharing time together. The location of the cottage offers a peaceful base, and easy access for exploring both rural and coastal North Norfolk, whether it's on foot, bicycle or car.

Gorgeous few days at Evergreen. The cottage is lovely, the area is so quiet. Enjoyed days out at Cromer and Wells which were both really nice and quick and easy to get to. We loved staying here, very clean and loved all the decor, very comfortable, kids loved it. Thanks guys!

A wonderful cottage, so stylish and well equipped. It exceeded my expectations (which is usually hard to do!) Great position to allow us east access to Cromer, N.Norfollk Railway to Sheringham, ROARR Dinosaur Park, and Holkham Hall - all great days out for the family. We had a lovely meal at the Black Boys Hotel at Aylsham - huge portions, but delicious!! We would love to return in the summer - maybe next year! Thank you so much.
