About this property

The Stables is a bijou bolthole for two people, or a solo traveller, looking for a peaceful country escape. Situated in a quintessential rural setting in the quiet lanes of Edingthorpe Green, only three miles from the traditional seaside resort of Mundesley and its many amenities. Popular all year round, The Stables is cosy, comfortable and superbly located.

A magnificently converted stable block, this hideaway adjoins the owner’s home, and has been sympathetically restored to retain original features blended with modern conveniences. Comprising of one floor, the property is entered in to a well-equipped contemporary kitchen boasting a Nespresso Pixie coffee machine. This leads on to a light and airy, open-plan sitting/dining room with exquisite original exposed beams and sumptuous sofas. A charming farmhouse table provides seating for two guests in the dining area. French doors open out to a little outside terrace - the ideal spot for a morning coffee or al fresco dining long into the evening. The beautifully styled bedroom hosts a double bed appointed under the beamed vaulted ceiling, and features an ornamental fireplace. Dressed in fine linens with complimenting soft furnishings, guests will experience a restorative deep sleep. A fully tiled bathroom offering walk-in shower, completes the accommodation.

Outside, an additional south-facing garden is located at the back of the property, and provides seating and dining furniture. Being fully enclosed, this is a safe space for supervised dogs to play. There are plenty of walks to discover straight from the door traversing fields and along the old railway line, or along canal routes through the nature reserve at Pigney's Wood. Only one and half miles away, Bacton Woods has orienteering and walking trails. Off-road parking for two cars is available on the gravel driveway.

The North Norfolk coast at Mundesley can be reached via a six minute car journey. From here, link up with the North Norfolk coastal path for a good walk. For waterside restaurants, daily boat hire and river trips, The Norfolk Broads are close by. The Stables is within easy distance of Norwich (by road and train) for excellent shopping, theatre, the Castle Museum, art galleries and independent cafes, real ale pubs and restaurants. The market town of North Walsham is only three miles away, and its amenities include a train station, and a leisure centre with a gym and indoor swimming pool.

The property was clean and in a great location. It is situated in a quiet area, yet still close enough by car to large supermarkets and the coast. As the weather was great, we made a lot of use of the outside dining space and the enclosed garden was good for our dog. One of the best properties we have visited in terms of close proximity to interesting places, peace and quiet and a comfortable bed!

I enjoyed my stay at The Stables . It was comfortable and well equipped and in a lovely rural setting. Plenty of parking and seating outside and a useful lawn area for the dog to enjoy.

Clean, well equipped cottage. Close to excellent beaches and woodland walks for the dogs. Will return again.
