The secluded quarter acre gardens overlook fields to the rear, across the Walsingham to Wells toy railway offering, at certain times of the year, a glimpse of the steam from its engine. Little and Great Walsingham lie only a mile apart by the River Stiffkey. Their names are confusing as Little Walsingham is the larger of the two villages and has been a centre of pilgrimage since the 11th century with an Anglican shrine at its centre and a Catholic shrine a short distance to the south. The surrounding countryside provides both excellent walking and cycling. The sandy beach at Wells is approximately five miles away, with Holkham a mile or two beyond. Great Walsingham has a craft centre with tea-rooms, whilst Little Walsingham has an award winning farm shop as well as pubs/restaurants.
