Surrounded by open countryside, 1 Mere Farm Barns is a traditional detached Norfolk long barn, originally part of the Walpole Estate, providing holiday accommodation within walking distance of Mannington Hall.
It is situated seven miles south of the gorgeous Georgian town of Holt, which offers excellent individual shops, galleries, restaurants and delicatessens.
The National Trust's Blickling Hall, one of the most imposing and majestic stately homes in Norfolk, is three miles to the south, with Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park, Blakeney Point National Nature Reserve and Morston and Stiffkey Marshes all within easy reach. The North Norfolk Coast, most of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is 10 miles away, with outstanding beaches, wildlife, riding facilities and golf courses.
Itteringham, two miles away, holds the nearest village shop, and also a fine dining pub, the Walpole Arms. The Pigs, three miles away at Edgefield, run by locally renowned Iain Wilson of Byfords in Holt, is a country dining pub with bags of character - particularly note the Pudding Club after Sunday lunch. Slightly further afield, the Gunton Arms in Thorpe Market, 10 miles away, is the 2013 Michelin Pub of the Year.
