Robin's Retreat in Holt offers a well-positioned, peaceful and relaxing stay with spacious living areas and good Wi-Fi. It's ideal for family breaks with plenty of local attractions and on-site activities. The proximity to the centre is a highlight, though some guests noted room for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.
Guests have reported issues with cleanliness, including damp towels, an uncleaned bathroom, and a dirty fridge door. These concerns suggest that attention to detail in cleaning could be improved.
The location is highly praised for being peaceful, relaxing, and well-situated with easy access to shops, bars, and local attractions. Its proximity to the main square is a definite plus.
The property offers comfortable living spaces and a well-stocked kitchen, though some guests found the second bedroom claustrophobic and the sofa covers stained, which detracted from the overall comfort.
Facilities like Wi-Fi and TV are appreciated, but there are negative comments about the toaster and the lack of basic provisions. The property is well-designed for families, but some equipment could be updated.
While guests have not specifically mentioned gifts, there is a mention of a lack of a welcome pack and basic necessities. As such, it's polite to note that while thoughtful touches can enhance the experience, they are not guaranteed.

As you approach Robin’s Retreat you will feel your shoulders drop as you take in the stillness of this award-winning park, where the stresses and strains of every-day life just melt away. Set in unspoilt woodland, Robin’s Retreat has been carefully furnished to mix comfort with style and is the perfect place to relax and unwind in, whether you choose to do so in the comfort of the cosy living room or amongst the trees in the decked outdoor area. It is a much-loved family bolthole where many wonderful memories have been made, and the owners are very excited for you to make your own there too.
Kelling Heath is probably unlike any holiday park you have every visited, much care has been taken to ensure the placement of the lodges provides privacy and tranquillity, making the most of the 300-acre site, which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It does offer many of the draws of other sites such as a heated indoor swimming pool, a seasonal outdoor pool, a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi hot tub and health and fitness centre (three-day passes are available at very reasonable rates) along with an on-site shop, which boasts lots of local produce, a bar and pizza restaurant. But things are done very differently here, there is a much-needed change of pace at Kelling Heath, which is probably why it is so loved by everyone who has been lucky enough to discover it.
Activities take the form of children’s bug hunts, cycle hire and passing visits to a small sanctuary for red squirrels. There is often live music in the village square, which also plays host to lots of great events throughout the year such as vintage and beer festivals. The site is also a designated Dark Sky area and you just won’t believe the blanket of stars that will unfold above you as night falls. There is so much to do here that many guests never leave the grounds but for those who do the treasures of the Norfolk coastline await, with the beach just two miles away. You will also find yourself within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads and the fine city of Norwich.
There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.

Great location, very peaceful and relaxing, possibly different in July/ August. Well catered for on site with plenty to visit locally.

Damp towels in the shower tray and hanging on the back of the bathroom door, bathroom bin with empty toilet rolls in, made me think it hadn’t been cleaned. Not even the basics like a toilet roll or salt and pepper had been left for us, no welcome pack apart from the remnants of the previous occupier (a few sachets of sugar, coffee) The toaster is too small and practically useless. The second bedroom was claustrophobic and the beds in that room had not been made ready for our arrival. The lounge and kitchen were spacious, and the main bedroom was ok. The tv and Wi-Fi connection was great, as was the proximity to the centre. All in all, not bad value for money but we’ve stayed in better vans on the site. A few extra touches like better equipment and a nice welcome pack with a few necessities would make a big difference.
