Snaptrip says

Compass Cottage is praised for its superb location, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped amenities. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to local attractions and the thoughtful touches, such as complimentary biscuits. While some guests encountered maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights, the cottage's charm and the owner's responsiveness to issues are noted positively.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Several reviews mention cleanliness concerns, including dust, cobwebs, and a general need for a deeper clean. There are specific references to dirty kitchen appliances and unpleasant odours. However, some guests found the property to be clean and tidy, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The cottage is consistently commended for its excellent location, with easy access to local towns and attractions. The convenience for both coast and country is a highlight, although some guests noted the busy main road as a minor inconvenience.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the living spaces ample. However, there are comments about the steepness of stairs, limited storage, and noise from a heating unit, which slightly detract from the overall comfort.

The property is well-equipped with a smart TV, kitchen appliances, and additional toilets. Nonetheless, maintenance issues such as broken bathroom fixtures, heating problems, and a lack of a tumble dryer have been reported, affecting the overall experience.

While guests mention thoughtful extras like biscuits and the provision of a shed for bike storage, there is insufficient information to assess the consistency of such gestures or their impact on the overall experience. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

20 ( access 15.00 ) to find no cleaning done or beds made up , contacted owner and Sykes , excuse given bad weather we had spent 4 hours in constant rain and got there on time. We were advised by Sykes to go to the local pub for a snack and wait for the cleaners to turn up and finish , no food at either pub . The upstairs shower leaked and the water ran down the lounge wall over the sockets , fused the lights, very dangerous. There were no tea towels . Couldn’t really have the downstairs bedroom window open due to the noise from the air source heating pump. There is a large stain on the ground floor bedroom carpet. All this said it is a lovely house it just needs some TLC and we had a lovely time
