The cottage is positioned on the edge of the Georgian market town of Holt, and is within walking distance of the shops, cafés, restaurants and inns. A few minutes’ drive leads to the stunning North Norfolk coastline, with its sandy beaches and wealth of rspb nature and bird reserves. Delightful footpaths lead from the door, the most famous of which is known locally as Gas Hill and Spout Hill, which runs into a huge stream.
The Georgian market town of Holt and the nearby coastal villages of Blakeney and Cley are both 5 miles, offering a rich blend of history, nature, and charm. Holt is known for its elegant streets lined with flintstone buildings, home to independent boutiques, galleries, antique shops, and the famous Bakers and Larners food hall.
Just a short drive away, the coastal village of Blakeney offers unforgettable experiences, including seal-spotting boat trips from Morston Quay to Blakeney Point, where England’s largest grey seal colony resides. The village itself is a delight to explore, with its picturesque quay, flint cottages, and the historic St Nicholas Church overlooking the marshes.
Further along the coast lies Cley-next-the-Sea, home to the renowned Cley Marshes nature reserve, a haven for birdwatchers and walkers. The village is crowned by its iconic windmill and dotted with art studios, a smokehouse deli, and the beautiful St Margaret’s Church.
Boat trips are available to visit the basking seal colony and Blakeney Point Reserve. Golf available locally at Sheringham golf course, Royal Cromer golf course, and Royal West Norfolk golf course at Brancaster. Restaurants, cafes, shops and pubs less than ¼ mile walk.
