About this Holiday Cottage

Bright, spacious, airy, modern and ideal for an eco-friendly holiday in Cranmer, Avocet Cottage is one of our impressive properties offering five star accommodation in 175 acres of feature-packed grounds. The cottage sleeps six, and it's a high-tech property powered by wind and solar energy, including underfloor heating for comfort. On-site facilities include tennis courts, a heated indoor swimming pool and a games room including darts, pool and table tennis facilities, with a library of family books, games and DVDs to enjoy. Enjoy carbon-neutral comfort for a guilt-free holiday by the beautiful Norfolk coast. 

Inside

Well appointed through, dining facilities are provided and the well-equipped kitchen includes high-tech appliances such as a Nespresso coffee machine, cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There's a music system in the lounge, complete with an iPod dock, and we've provided a flatscreen TV and DVD player for alternative entertainment. The cottage features an enclosed garden with a BBQ, and you'll have use of laundry facilities 24 hours a day. 

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

Avocet Cottage features an open plan design with two double bedrooms and a twin room. One of the double bedrooms is an en-suite, and the other bedrooms share a contemporary bathroom with separate bath and shower facilities.

Other Things to Note

Guests staying at Avocet Cottage can enjoy sunny summer days flying kites or playing ball games in our large, fenced paddock. We can offer bike hire with delivery to your door, and we're able to provide tennis tuition or swimming lessons by arrangement. Avocet Cottage features a wireless internet connection for use free of charge, and we can provide a catering service by arrangement for groups of six. Fresh hampers and frozen homemade meals are also available for delivery, if booked in advance.

We offer plenty of space to park your cars on site, and for families with children we can offer a reliable babysitting service to give you a little peace and quiet. We also stock the cottage with great supplies for babies and toddlers including night lights, children's utensils, a cot, a highchair, baby monitors, a changing mat, a baby bath and a steam steriliser and blender.

Eco friendly facilities at the cottage include underfloor heating and further heating/ hot water supplemented by solar, wind and a ground source heat pump. The cottage is also highly insulated to cut down on carbon emissions.

Availability

Short breaks of three nights or more may be available during off peak times and Avocet Cottage can be booked alongside its neighbour, Garden House, to accommodate up to twelve people. This property does not accept pets.

Around and About

Local beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea can be found less than a fifteen minute drive away. There are plenty of family attractions in the surrounding area and the cottage is also an excellent base for walkers and cyclists. 

Directions

from THE west

Head towards King's Lynn via the A17, A47 or A10.

Take the A149 and then the A148 heading east until a couple of miles from Fakenham.

Turn left at a signpost, marked 'The Creakes', about half a mile east of Dunton Patch, the road will bring you right to Cranmer Country Cottages.

If you miss this turning, 1 mile further east turn left onto the B1355, continue for nearly 2 miles, then fork left on the by road to Dunton until you reach Cranmer Country Cottages.

 

from THE south

Approach from the A11 and A1065 through Brandon and Swaffham as far as the A148 roundabout west of Fakenham.

Turn left onto the A148 and then take the first right B1355, continue for nearly 2 miles, then fork left on the by road to Dunton until you reach Cranmer Country Cottages.

 

from THE east

Approach Fakenham via the A1067 or the A148.

Take the northern by pass around Fakenham to the western roundabout (junction with the A1065)

Turn right, keeping on the A148, and then take the first right B1355, continue for nearly 2 miles,

then fork left on the by road to Dunton until you reach Cranmer Country Cottages.
