Baconsthorpe is a small, sleepy and pretty village just three miles from the picturesque Georgian market town of Holt with its selection of galleries, restaurants and independent shops. Surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Holt ridge, it is an ideal place to explore and is great for cycling, walking and birdwatching. The coast is only five miles away and the choice is quite diverse from the sandy beaches of Cromer and Sheringham to the shingle of Salthouse and the marshes of Blakeney and Cley. The impressive ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle are just a short walk away.

We had a great holiday, and after holidaying in Norfolk for several years this cottage is our favourite.
