About this property

A superb stylish semi-detached period brick and flint cottage set right in the heart of this popular coastal village.

A superb, stylish semi-detached period brick and flint cottage set right in the heart of this popular coastal village.

Furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard, 2 Dix Cottages is a boutique coastal delight, a perfect hideaway retreat for families, couples and friends to enjoy all year round. The cottage has a welcoming relaxing feel, is deceptively spacious, comfortable, cosy and warm with air source heat pump heating, which is underfloor to some rooms, and not just one, but two wood burning stoves.

On the ground floor you really are spoilt for choice. There is a fabulous open-plan and sociable living space, combining a bespoke fitted kitchen alongside sitting and dining areas. With glazed french doors leading into the garden, and windows to three sides of the room enjoying views over the garden, the room is flooded with light. There's a separate 'quiet' snug/garden room, also with french doors into the garden, which is ideal if you want to read a book or watch an alternative programme on the television.

For larger groups, book with 1 Dix Cottages (adjoining No. 2), sleeping four guests.

We had a lovely time staying in Thornham as we love it there so much. Our stay at 2 Dix Cottage was warm, cosy. We had all we needed to be comfortable. The garden was a delight to look upon and visiting bird life so lovely.

We keep coming back. It always works for us. Comfortable, spacious and perfectly situated for fabulous walks, runs and bird watching. Sneaked in for a few meals over the way at the Orange Tree, and our further afield favourite - The Dun Cow at Salthouse. It was great milk in the fridge for tea on arrival. We will be back. P.S. The weather was so good at the start of the week that we were, at last, able to sit out and enjoy the garden.

Great to be back in Norfolk and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dix Cottage. Came expecting poor weather and we have had sunshine every day and only occasional rain. Some very high tides affected the crabbing but made for some very dramatic landscapes. Enjoyed meals at the Jolly Sailors and the Railway Inn in Docking. Lovely lunch at the deli, and too many Mims ice creams! Everyone enjoyed the trip to Bircham windmill and the breadmaking. We always do the Blackbeard Adventure Golf and we have left a free go for one person, won on the 19th hole. Enjoy!
