Set within the pretty village of Sedgeford and with the Peddars Way literally on the doorstep, Peddars Rest provides superb family accommodation. This rustic cottage was originally two cottages but has been combined into one family home with a large garden - you can even bring the dogs! Leave the car behind and head out on the Peddars Way to experience vast open spaces, fresh air and stunning scenery and if cycling is your thing, the National Cycle Route 1 runs right through the village. This area is adorned with places to visit; the Sandringham Estate and Houghton Hall are both within easy reach or pack your buckets and spades and take a trip to the diverse Royal Norfolk coastline. Visit Hunstanton, a traditional seaside town with its wide, sandy beach, rock pools and iconic striped cliffs, or continue a little further to beautiful Brancaster, a stunning coastal village with another great beach, good golf course, sailing and plenty of walks on the Norfolk Coastal Path. The area is full off award winning pubs and restaurants, great farm shops and delicatessens all showcasing Norfolk's great food heritage you will be spoilt for choice and will not go hungry here!

We booked a short break with our two dogs at Peddars Rest to make use of the Peddars Way and couldn’t have been happier with the location and property. Beautiful part of the world, the Peddars Way literally passes by the front door, the house was a great size and well maintained. The garden was excellent for the dogs and us to rest in. Will definitely be back. Only a 10-25 minute drive to many of north west Norfolk’s towns and coastal walks so also serves as a great base for holidaying families.

The cottage was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly for some time. There were LOTS of cobwebs and some dirty dishes in the cupboards. There is also mould in the second double bedroom, and both bathrooms (particularly around the en suite shower and ceiling). This is the third time we have been to this particular property and regretfully I don’t think we will return again. The price for the same week in June has almost doubled since our first visit in 2019. At the lower price the standard of cleanliness and the lack of a 21st century shower in the main bathroom were overlooked. To justify the price the owner needs to fix the damp problem and upgrade the bathrooms. We didn’t mind sharing the en suite but this isn’t practical for some guests. New duvets and mattresses wouldn’t go amiss either (if you ask guests to strip the beds before they leave at least make sure what’s seen underneath isn’t too disgusting).
