Rufus Cottage is an attractive character carrstone property located in a quiet backwater of this popular village, within walking distance of HM The King's Norfolk residence, Sandringham House, and equidistant from the popular seaside resorts of Heacham and Hunstanton with their stunning beaches.
A privately maintained courtyard with pretty flowerbeds welcomes you to Rufus Cottage. Built in traditional local honey-coloured carrstone and flint, and designed by a local architect in keeping with the historical appearance of the local manor house, this delightful little cottage is a great spot for a small family or a couple or two. On the ground floor, a well-equipped modern kitchen opens into a cosy sitting room with comfy sofas to sink into and french doors that open into a private, sunny enclosed courtyard garden. Upstairs are three bedrooms (two double and one single) and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite.
Rufus Cottage is a great year-round bolthole and base for exploring all that this beautiful area has to offer. You are spoilt for choice with stunning beaches, wonderful walks, inland and coastal, and interesting historical country houses to visit - who doesn't want to take a look around Sandringham House and walk the estate?! You are conveniently placed too for all the village amenities - local pubs, tea rooms, fish and chip shop and a range of other shops.

There is parking available immediately outside the cottage for one car (NB: there is an HM Land Registry restriction and vans, caravans or camper vans are not allowed to park here). Further parking is available roadside within the village.

We have had a lovely, last-minute week at Rufus Cottage. This is a beautiful holiday home in a quiet location - perfect for exploring this lovely part of Norfolk. Everything we needed was provided (as well as a very generous welcome hamper and fresh flowers) and the cottage was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and beautifully presented. The village of Dersingham has a very good Co-op, a post office, a pharmacy, a newsagent and a butcher, so all basic needs are catered for. There are a few takeaways, a tea room and a coffee shop (though we didn't get around to using any of them). There are also two pubs - one very much geared to local drinkers, the other with more of a pub/restaurant vibe, though it was clearly struggling as a result of staff shortages while we were there. Both had pleasant beer gardens. Sandringham is just up the hill and the beautiful beaches of North Norfolk are an easy drive (or a bus ride) away. I thoroughly recommend this property.
