Beautifully styled by the owner, this gorgeous and charming semi-detached cottage was originally the stables to St Mary’s Church and the rectory. Peacefully situated in enchanting private gardens and only a ten minute walk to the beach.
With all the bedrooms on the ground floor, this fabulous cottage is practical too. Peacefully situated away from the roads, but a short walk to the beach and the renowned Ship hotel/pub/restaurant. Grooms Cottage also has lovely fully-enclosed cottage gardens, so perfect for dogs and children and there is garden furniture to relax and enjoy long sunny days and al fresco dining.
Grooms Cottage is a delight and has been sensitively refurbished over time to now offer ‘upside down’ living accommodation. Upstairs you'll discover the spacious open-plan living area with an open fire and a very well-equipped kitchen with range oven.
The owners of Grooms Cottage are supporters of the rspb and donate a percentage of each rental to the charity, so make sure you visit the rspb reserves at nearby Titchwell or Snettisham, where you can explore the reserve and appreciate the fabulous bird and wildlife that frequent the area. With Brancaster Staithe in walking distance you can walk the coast path to buy fresh fish from the harbour where the boats land their catch.
If you wish to book two adjacent properties with private access from each garden, then consider booking Betty's Cottage too, which also has a fully-enclosed cottage garden, so perfect for dogs and children. The cottages sit just 20ft away from one another, so plenty of privacy yet close enough to enjoy quality time together.
Additional Information
Two well behaved dogs are welcome (small additional charge).
Access Note: The open plan living area is on the first floor.

Many thanks for the stay. Can't fault at all. Already looking at next year with friends to book Bettys.

Clean, comfortable, warm, nice location, value for money. Owner went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable.

We had a fantastic stay at Groom’s Cottage. It was a cold December weekend but the kids still loved doing the short trek to the beach to splash around in the sea and roll around in the sand dunes. The cottage has everything you need - and a lovely cosy fire to keep you warm when you want to hunker down. The owner Henrietta was on hand to give us some great local tips for pubs and restaurants and where to spot the seals. We will definitely be back.
