About this property

Field Cottage is in a quiet residential area in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within walking distance of Brancaster Staithes harbour, two pubs and the village shop and cafe. It is a fantastic holiday destination at any time of the year as there is always something beautiful to see and fun to do. The holiday cottage sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms and is perfect for families with off-street parking, a secure garden and accommodation all on one level. Beaches, golf courses, country houses, markets and friendly towns and villages like Burnham Market and Hunstanton are all close.

Field Cottage is the perfect spot for a self-catering holiday on Norfolk's north coast where there is always something beautiful to see and fun to do. The cottage is in Brancaster Staithe, close to the harbour and within walking distance of two friendly pubs - The Jolly Sailors and the White Horse. There is space for up to six people to sleep in three bedrooms and a layout that is ideal for families.

Brancaster Staithe is in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (aonb). The historic harbour is managed by the National Trust and is busy with fishing boats and pleasure craft all year round. Birds and wildlife flourish in the protected environment where a favourite walking route goes through The Downs Woods, past Barrow Common and the Branodunum Roman Fort. Bird lovers should spend time at the rspb Titchwell Marsh Nature Reserve where marsh harriers, geese, wildfowl and wading birds all thrive. Brancaster Beach, also managed by the National Trust, is a five minute drive away and has soft sand and a wide shoreline that is as wonderful for a summer day at the seaside as it is for a windy winter walk.

The village has excellent amenities for locals and visitors. In addition to two pubs, there is The Fish Shed and a Nisa store at Burnham Deepdale. There is more choice a short drive from the cottage in Burnham Market and Hunstanton, both of which are 5 and 15-minutes away respectively.

As well as going to the beach and enjoying walks and bike rides around the coast, visit Holkham for the day to enjoy gorgeous views of Holkham Bay, walk around the nature reserve and admire historic Holkham Hall. If you love a classic British stately home, then you should also add Houghton Hall, Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Sandringham to your itinerary. Visitors at Field Cottage can play golf, go sailing or fishing. They can shop at local markets - including Brancaster's fantastic Christmas markets and the year-round Dalegate Market in nearby Burnham Deepdale; visit the shops and art galleries in Burnham Market and Holt; eat and drink delicious, locally-sourced food; and enjoy some of the country's finest beaches.

Nearby Hunstanton offers a number of traditional seaside attractions including a funfair, the Oasis swimming pool and a Sealife centre - great for a rainy day!

North Norfolk has been a favourite holiday destination for generations. Staying here feels not so much like going back in time but more like stepping out of your harried daily life for a few days, slowing down and having time to focus on the people and things that are important.
