Broom Cottage is a charming, cosy retreat in a tranquil village setting, ideal for exploring North Norfolk and enjoying peaceful countryside walks. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, enclosed garden, and dog-friendly atmosphere. The cottage is praised for its quiet location, proximity to local amenities, and comfortable beds. Some mention the low doorways and compact spaces, but most find it well-suited for couples or small families. Occasional maintenance and cleanliness issues are noted, but overall, visitors enjoy a relaxing and restful stay in this picturesque cottage.
Many guests found the cottage clean and fresh, but several reviews mention areas needing improvement, such as overgrown gardens, dirty skirting boards, and occasional mould or damp. While most found the property tidy, a few experienced lapses in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its peace, privacy, and easy access to the Norfolk coast, local walks, and village amenities. Guests enjoy the quiet setting, proximity to pubs and shops, and suitability for dog owners.
The cottage is described as cosy and warm, with comfortable beds and a welcoming log burner. However, some guests found the sofa and seating uncomfortable, and taller guests struggled with low doorways and compact spaces.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen, good WiFi, and helpful appliance instructions. Some guests noted issues with the shower, TV, garden maintenance, and occasional broken items, but most found everything needed for a pleasant stay.
Some guests appreciated logs for the fire and helpful guides, but several noted the absence of a welcome pack or basic provisions. While thoughtful touches may be present, they are not guaranteed and cannot be relied upon for every stay.

Access to a hoover could be helpful. The welcome folder with maps of walks could be clearer as it was difficult to find local areas to allow dogs off lead. We had a very comfortable stay thanks. We would recommend this property.

The main bed was very comfortable, the smart TV is easy to use with built in DVD player and a good selection of DVDs, also a good selection of books and games available. The kitchen is fairly well equipped (though note there is no freezer, only the fridge icebox) The enclosed garden is great for dogs and on sunny days is pleasant to sit out in, getting the sun all afternoon. (Though a bit of weeding wouldn't go amiss). The somewhat steep (but quite short) staircase might be a little challenging for some, as might the low doorways. There is a lovely, welcoming pub and cafe within a short walk. Lots of lovely quiet roads for cycling near the cottage (not quite so good for walking). It is an easy drive out to the wonderful beaches of Old Hunstanton or Holkham with no dog restrictions. Also Wells and Hunstanton are good for days out. Or take the steam train from Holt to enjoy a day out in Sheringham.

The location is perfect for exploring the Norfolk coast and surrounding areas. The cottage had everything we needed and the bed is very comfortable, we didnât take full advantage of the kitchen facilities due to the fact that the Crown pub is nearby serving great beer and delicious food. I would highly recommend Broom cottage if you are looking for a comfortable, quiet bolt hole near the seaside.
