Abbey Barn Farmhouse is a charming and spacious property, highly praised for its beautiful gardens, secure outdoor space, and well-decorated, comfortable bedrooms. It is ideal for large groups and family gatherings, offering a huge kitchen table as the heart of the home. While some guests noted a lack of communal seating and minor issues with kitchen equipment, the farmhouse's rural setting and privacy are consistently appreciated, making it a recommended choice for a peaceful getaway.
The property generally appears to be well-maintained, with no major cleanliness issues reported. However, there were mentions of a fly infestation in two rooms, which suggests room for improvement in pest control.
The farmhouse is appreciated for its quiet, private, and beautiful rural setting. It is noted to be remote, with a 15-minute drive to nearby areas, which may be a positive or negative depending on guest preferences.
Guests find the bedrooms comfortable and beautifully presented, with quality linens and large beds. However, some guests mentioned flat or lumpy pillows and a lack of wardrobes for longer stays, slightly affecting the comfort score.
The property is equipped for large groups, but guests have noted a lack of sufficient comfy seating for everyone and issues with kitchen equipment. The induction hob and BBQ maintenance were specifically mentioned as areas needing attention.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness category, and the score is set to null.
Ideal for a large family get together or group of friends, this beautiful property is an entertainer’s delight!.

It was a great venue for a large group. We had 10 adults and 4 children. Lots of safe space for the children to run round outside. As per other reviews And in comparison to other houses for large groups there is scope to improve the offering. The table is far too big in the kitchen even for a large group. It’s impractical. It would be better if the large bedroom from the kitchen was made into a lounge with bed settees as the lounge is far too small for a big group. IF the weather had been bad we would have been stuck. We wouldn’t want to sit round a table all night. OVen is also far too small for a large group. We managed but you have to think what and how your cooking. Rooms clean loo brushes need clean and some of kitchen does. Too many baking trays which were quite greasy

The bedrooms are beautifully presented, with quality linens and large beds, although the pillows could be replaced as they were a little flat or lumpy. The accomodation is perfectly acceptable for a night or two but the lack of wardrobes and bathroom surface, etc, would be difficult for longer stays. The bedrooms would benefit from a TV, as would the kitchen. There is a TV snug with a three seater sofa and a four-five seater sofa in the kitchen, otherwise there is no living space but the kitchen has a huge table to sit around. It would benefit from a slightly smaller table to allow more seating. There was only one bin bag and no coffee pods for the nespresso machine, only one tea towel and no oven gloves. Two of the rooms had fly infestations. Cottages.com told us we could have late checkout but the cleaner turned up at normal check out time which was disappointing and meant for a hasty exit. The cleaner and inspector claimed to know nothing about this, despite us calling the owner ourselves several times to only get a "mobile is turned off" message, several text messages, and cottages.com saying they'd emailed everyone several times. This is concerning had there been a problem with the accomodation because we wouldn't have been able to reach the owner. That said, the place was perfect for a weekend away with 17 of us. It really is a beautiful place and I would recommend it to anyone. If they acted on this feedback, it'd be 5 star without a doubt!

Charming property in a beautiful setting. A great space for multi generational entertaining, although a larger sitting area would have been lovely to be able to relax in together during the evening. Unfortunately during our stay we had an isue with flies, especially in the Primrose Room and attic room which made it difficult for some guests to sleep due to constant buzzing.
