About this property

It would be hard to find a better located self-catering cottage in Norfolk than this fantastic property. Sleeping ten people in five bedrooms, it is just a few miles from the Norfolk Broads National Park, the Norfolk Coast and the historical city of Norwich. The accommodation is all on one level with guests having access to shared gardens and the private use of a heated swimming pool (May to Sept), as well as a private garden and patio with a seven-person hot tub. Country walks, sailing and fishing, leisurely cycles, days at the seaside, shopping, theatres and excellent food make this perfect for families and friends.

Garden Lodge is not only very comfortable inside but, because it is part of a former horticultural college, it also has exceptionally lovely gardens too. The countryside location is perfect, being just a short drive from the beautiful Norfolk Broads, spectacular beaches and the ancient city of Norwich. It comfortably sleeps ten people in five bedrooms, and it is ideal for big families or groups of friends searching for the perfect self-catering holiday cottage in Norfolk.

Norfolk is a holiday destination with something for everyone. Garden Lodge is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year (short breaks available out of peak season), and because it is so conveniently central, you can plan a holiday full of fun even if you only have a few days. Just a few miles away, the Norfolk Broads are spread out in all their glory, with miles of waterways to explore, footpaths to follow and cycling routes leading you through the beautiful scenery of the national park.

Great Yarmouth and all the traditional fun of a seaside resort beckons twelve miles away, with the Blue Flag beach and family-friendly amenities having been a favourite for generations. For beachgoers who are happy to swap fewer facilities for greater peace, Winterton and Sea Palling make good alternatives, but with 15 miles of beaches around Great Yarmouth, there is no shortage of choice.

Norwich is a wonderful university city with more than a millennia of history, and you can see parts of its heritage not only in its architecture but also in place names, such as "gate" which means "street in Danish and is a remnant from the Viking invasion of 1004. Three hundred years later, its successful wool industry meant Norwich was close to London in economic importance, and fire, plague and Henry viii's Reformation also left their mark. Today, it is a vibrant city with thriving arts and literature scenes, great restaurants, theatres and shops.

The owners of Garden Lodge want to ensure their guests have a fun and relaxing time and are happy to help with restaurant or beauty treatment bookings, recommendations for day trips and even arranging bike hire and taking delivery of your online grocery order so that everything is waiting for you when you arrive. Guests of Garden Lodge also have exclusive use of the seven-person outdoor hot tub, as well as the private use of the heated swimming pool (between May and September).
