Take advantage of your superb location and venture into Thetford Forest Park, here you will find scenic, wildlife rich walking trails, Thetford Golf Club and the renowned Go Ape Thetford for some fun among the treetops! Located fewer than 25 miles from Norwich, Watton is a well-serviced market town in Breckland. The 'Babies in the Wood' are rumoured to have been abandoned in Wayland Wood in this town, which is well located to access all of Norfolk and North Suffolk. On the town sign, you'll see a hare and two babies jumping over a barrel to represent the town's name: wat is the dialect term for hare, and tonne is the dialect word for barrel.

You may get fresh seafood and veggies at the weekly market held every Wednesday, as well as two major grocery stores and a number of smaller shops and eateries.

Our hosts provide some welcoming gifts and were very helpful during our stay. The Chequers pub a mile distant supplied excellent food and the locals were extremely friendly. The area is excellent for touring or walking or cycling {not many hills} We loved it .

Full instructions were given by the property owners before we arrived about key collection, access to keys are easy accessible and you let yourself into the property, the owners are on hand should you require anything. The property itself is very clean and comfortable, bright and spacious. Milk and orange juice also a bottle of Prosecco were provided by the hosts a lovely touch. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. It makes a great base for exploring beautiful Norfolk. Everything about the Croft is perfect and we will definitely be returning.
