Completed with original features, displaying lofty ceilings, stained-glass windows, and a church pew, whilst boasting a private and delightful rear garden, with a hot tub and sauna in tow, the holiday home welcomes six guests, perfect for a family getaway to the Norfolk countryside. Enjoy the well-equipped kitchen and utility, helping to ease your self-catering stay, whilst gathering around the grand dining table, encompassed by traditional dark furniture. Venture to the sitting room, perfect for reading one of many books on offer in front of the woodburning stove, or perhaps take advantage of the rear suntrap, by unwinding in the hot tub after a quick session in the sauna. By climbing the stairs, you'll find three spacious bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite shower room, a double, and a twin, all with TVs and access to the main bathroom, offering flexibility for your whole party. If you can tear yourself away from The Old Chapel, travel to Bawdeswell, where you can enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake at Hamptons @ The Barn, a glass of wine at The Old Workhouse Bar, or simply stock up on the essentials at the nearby Morrisons. A short journey away you will arrive at Norfolk Llamas, a family-friendly activity, inclusive of nature-filled treks, Swanton Morley Waterfalls, and Pensthorpe, a stunning 700-acre nature reserve, perfect for woodland walks. Bird watching is popular across the local landscape, whilst Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse is an idyllic setting for your entire party, both a museum and farmland, or perhaps head to Dereham Windmill, a Grade II listed landmark, enveloped by luscious grounds. By car, reach Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, where you can observe the everyday of many wildlife creatures, Raynham Hall, hosting regular events from its grand country estate, and Fakenham Museum of Gas and Local History, an ideal attraction for budding historians. Enjoy your visit to Norfolk by choosing The Old Chapel as your base.

Bawdeswell, a quaint village with a great local store, a great tavern, and a lovely garden centre, is located between the Bure and Wensum Valleys approximately 10 miles from Fakenham. The oldest ancient woods in Norfolk, Foxley Wood, is close by and makes a fantastic spot for picnics. Gressenhall Farm and Museum and Norfolk's Dinosaur Park are both easily accessible and make for enjoyable family outings. While the churches at Salle, Cawston, and Booton are well worth a visit, the adjacent towns of Reepham, Fakenham, and Norwich provide a wide variety of amenities and architecture. This charming location is great at any time of year because of the stunning surrounding countryside that provides the area with excellent walking and cycling options.

Easy access to attractions in Norfolk. Comfy rooms.Sauna and hot tub extra luxury!

  • Sarah

So much to do in the area and all within a 35 min drive at the most, many much less than that which is great if you have little people with you as we did. Angie the housekeeper is lovely, easily contactable should you need her and her local knowledge leads to lots of recommendations of places to visit- and eat
