The pool is open all day; each cottage has use of the pool for one hour per day, bookable on arrival.
Additional swimming hours are available at cost, by prior arrangement. Swimming hats must BE worn IN THE pool.

I was a bit shocked to hear I should do the cleaning because it is self catering. The standard of cleanliness was poor; dust and cobwebs clung to beams and wooden slats that make up the cabin horizontally, windows very dirty as was the outside patio. Some sticky plastic stuck to the inside kitchen window with dead insects stuck to that. Chairs and bed uncomfortable, raised thresholds of 6” in height across bedroom doors which caused multiple trips up during the stay! Cold inadequate heating for the type of structure and poorly maintained generally .. the handle to the front door inside comes away in your hand when you try to close the door. NO INTERNET available in this cabin…. We agree we other reviews regarding the shower being small and to add to that poor quality fittings in the bathroom, and that the bedroom walls are mere partitions that do have ceilings so are subject to sound and light pollution from other rooms. We left early and went to stay in a Premier Inn.

A great place to stay. Jean is a great host. The Swimming Pool is a great bonus. Kitchen is on the small side but that was fine for us as only cooked Toast and Bacon and Egg Sandwiches for breakfast. Outside seating area was lovely as it was in the shade which was great as we sat outside every evening. Even when we had BBQ's it was pleasant. This was our second stay at Scarning Dale. I would like to mention that "The Cabin" is very "Open Plan" (Where most walls do not go up to the ceiling). This was not an issue for us and we would happily stay there again
