Our short break didn’t get off to a good start. There was confusion regarding parking & a deposit which we were unaware of (no deposit payment had been mentioned at all and at time of booking, parking was included and we were only notified about the £15 a day parking charge by Hoseasons a few days before our stay - Booking.com still show free parking) This was all being sorted an hour before our arrival (2 calls to the agent had been made the week before our stay but hadn’t been responded to) and we finally got parking instructions and a key code a few minutes before our arrival, so this was very stressful. On arrival, we found no bedding for the 3rd adult and only 2 towels for 3 of us for a 5 day stay, broken thermostat in the main bedroom, food etc left from previous renters, crumbs on the sofa & plaster chippings on the floor below the windows where new blinds had been fitted. We were also informed by a neighbour that we couldn’t park where we’d been told to go and we were worried our car would get clamped, especially as the area we were told to use was very clearly marked ‘no parking’This was all reported back to the agent and the owner (who lives next door - the holiday let is in their garden) soon arrived to resolve all the problems. We have to say, she was absolutely lovely. Bed was made up, rubbish cleaned up & removed, ample towels/toilet rolls/washing up sponge/ tea towels/courtesy items like biscuits & coffee were provided and we were offered a heater for the bedroom (which wasn’t needed as we were warm enough) The landlord was informed we were parking there and we had no further problem with that.Once this was all resolved, we had a nice comfortable stay and were able to relax. We would stay again but perhaps travel by train rather than car. Woodford South tube station was a few minutes walk away and an easy, direct journey to central London. We didn’t use any of the cooking facilities or dishwasher so can’t comment on that-we actually only really slept, showered & had breakfast there. There are some minor issues - the entry is very tricky (especially in the dark!), some of the flooring is very worn & could do with replacing, a proper handrail would be beneficial, the table football can’t be used because of position/space and would probably be better removed, we weren’t able to find sharp kitchen knives or scissors for food prep, no wine glasses and there was no socket to be seen near the dressing table (I pulled it over to next to the bed and left it there for the week)
