There are many pubs within a couple of miles, and not to be missed is a 15 minute drive north to the atmospheric Kirkstone Pass Inn, set high on a hill, where on a clear day you can enjoy views that stretch all the way to the sea. Continuing further will take you to Ullswater, with breathtaking views at every twist and turn of the route. Returning after a day’s exploring, open the French doors onto the large sunny terrace or settle on the raised patio at the front to enjoy a relaxing drink.
