Snaptrip says

Stone Cottage at Staveley is highly praised for its cosy and homely atmosphere, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and a delightful conservatory overlooking a secure garden. The village of Staveley offers a warm community, local shops, and convenient transport links, making it an excellent base for exploring the Lake District. Guests have enjoyed the property's location, the walking opportunities, and the thoughtful touches, although some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights have been noted.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean and well-maintained, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, a few guests mentioned issues such as crumbs on worktops, dusty floors, and dog mess in the garden, which slightly affected the overall impression of cleanliness.

The location is consistently lauded for its convenience and charm. Staveley is described as a friendly village with good amenities, including shops and a brewery. Its proximity to Windermere and other attractions in the Lake District, as well as the availability of local walks, makes it an ideal spot for holidaymakers.

Guests have found the cottage to be comfortable and cosy, with a homely feel. The presence of a conservatory and a pleasant garden adds to the comfort. The comfortable bed and excellent shower are frequently mentioned, although there were some comments about the heating system and TV positioning that suggest room for improvement.

The cottage is generally well-equipped with modern features and a great kitchen. However, there are several mentions of missing or incorrectly advertised facilities such as a DVD player and iPod docking station, and some maintenance issues like a broken bathroom tap and toilet flush mechanism.

While many guests appreciated the welcome gifts and found them to be a thoughtful touch, there is an inconsistency in their provision, with at least one guest suggesting they were missing upon arrival. As such, while the thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident, it cannot be guaranteed that future guests will receive these gifts.

It is in the very nice village of Staveley in Cumbria. The cottage was very comfortable (especially the bed!) and clean. Everything we could possibly need was supplied in the kitchen. Beautiful rhododendron in the church grounds directly opposite to wake up to each morning!

Village had everything we needed and beautiful walks nearby

Was missing some basic necessities like olive oil, which would have been handy for cooking, and only 2 toilet rolls were provided for the whole week’s stay. The bed was comfortable and the garden was lovely - found the house to be quite dark though.
