There were only 2 drawbacks . The first has been mentioned in other reviews - there is no freezer, not even an ice box in the fridge ! This is a huge omission in a self catering holiday cottage. The 2nd has nothing to do with the cottage but the access from the lane to the main road . Turning right towards Ambleside is extremely dangerous. The road bends slightly in both directions and the bus shelter with Perspex windows marrs the view from the left. In high season the road has constant traffic making a right turn extremely difficult

This was our second stay at Nutkin's Nook. The location is excellent on the main bus route which made getting around very easy without needing to take the car. The property is fitted to a high standard. The location is very peaceful yet also very convenient for both Windermere and Ambleside. This is one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in and it is very deserving of ii's great reviews and and we would definitely revisit it.
