Guests appreciate its peaceful yet convenient location, making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District. The property is described as comfortable and homely, with many visitors returning for repeat stays. Cleanliness is consistently highlighted, with guests describing the property as spotless, tidy, and maintained to a high standard. Only one review mentioned slight marks on a duvet and a musty smell from the settee, but these were isolated comments.
The location is frequently praised for its quiet setting and proximity to Windermere and Bowness, both within walking distance. Some guests found it a little tricky to find or noted narrow roads, but overall, the location is considered excellent for exploring the area.
Guests describe the property as spacious, comfortable, and homely, with high-quality furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. A few minor issues were mentioned, such as a mattress that could be replaced and difficulty with heating, but these did not detract significantly from overall comfort.
The apartment is well-equipped with modern amenities, including a washing machine and comprehensive kitchen equipment. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a non-working DVD player and a desire for a smart TV, but overall facilities are highly rated.
A few guests mentioned the absence of a welcome pack or complimentary refreshments, which are not guaranteed. While the property provides detailed information and some thoughtful touches, the lack of these extras was noted by some as a missed opportunity.

A pleasant apartment with a lovely view of the lake from the lounge window. It is situated in a quiet area on the edge of town, which is easily reached on foot, if a walk is fancied! We had trouble opening the windows in the lounge and during the high temperatures last week some air was needed. There is an obvious musty smell emanating from the settee at times, which isn't nice. Otherwise an ok place to stay.

Cottages.com are not god at communicating important information regarding bookings. Trying to ring up and speak to somebody is difficult. I got an email from Cottages recently cancelling my booking but no explanation. Thanks to the caretaker I got to speak to the owner who clarified the situation and we got a mutual agreement. I have no complaints about the cottage which we have stayed in regularly for over 10 years and really enjoy our holidays there.
