Guests say

Top Lodge, 4 Skiptory Howe in Windermere offers a tranquil, forested retreat with wildlife sightings and secure decking, ideal for families and pet owners. Guests appreciate the lodge's well-equipped kitchen, spacious living areas, and the site's amenities, including a pool and restaurant. While some guests encountered cleanliness and maintenance issues, the majority had a pleasant stay, enjoying the lodge's central location for exploring the Lake District.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the lodge spotless and others noting areas that required additional cleaning upon arrival. The presence of a dirty fridge, dusty floors, and a musty smell in some instances have impacted the score.

The lodge's location is highly praised for its beautiful woodland setting, proximity to Windermere, and easy access to the Lake District's attractions. The secure decking and wildlife sightings add to the charm, although some guests found the surrounding trees made the lodge dark.

Comfort levels are generally positive, with guests enjoying the lodge's warm and cosy atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned issues with uncomfortable beds and a lack of storage space, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and on-site amenities like a pool and restaurant. Maintenance issues such as a broken shower head and unreliable Wi-Fi have been noted, affecting the score.

There is insufficient information regarding specific thoughtful touches or gifts provided by the hosts, as the reviews do not mention these aspects. Therefore, a score cannot be given for this category.

Well kept clean and very warm. Nice location with a wood at the rear for a quick short walk with the dogs or 5 minutes to the woodland walk and lake launching are. Nothing negative to post about the lodge, all positives. Many thanks and would recommend and book again when visiting the lakes. Many thanks

The lodge was lovely, small but enough for us as a family of 4 and a dog to use as a base and a get away. There were lots of games for the kids to play and books if needed. The lodge was warm and lit on our arrival with information about the site and surrounding area. Lots of items in the kitchen which provided us with the opportunity to cook meals as we needed, a fabulous place.

The only negative was the WIFI and the Parkdean clubhouse. Although the WIFI signal showed as a strong signal from the booster, there was no data, you couldn't do simple tasks like internet browsing, let alone watch a film. The Parkdean clubhouse onsite isn't much to write home about either, ok for families with small children, but not a lot else otherwise. .
