Bow Rigg is a well-located cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere, close to local amenities and the waterfront, ideal for exploring the lakes. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the bonus of a balcony. Some refurbishment, particularly in the bathroom, and clarity on parking would enhance the experience.
The property is generally clean with comfortable beds and tidy living spaces. However, some guests noted issues such as mould in the bathroom grouting, a discoloured toilet seat, and grubby door handles, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness.
The cottage boasts an excellent location in the centre of Bowness, very close to bars, shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. It is also conveniently positioned for bus travel around the lakes.
Guests found the beds extremely comfortable and the living room views pleasant. However, some guests mentioned that the property could be brighter and that soundproofing could be improved.
Facilities like the kitchen are of a good standard, but maintenance issues such as a poorly fitted floor, missing skirting board, and a broken fridge detract from the overall quality. The bathroom also requires attention.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Guests did not receive a welcome pack, which could have included instructions and local information.
